Twas the night before
my 10th wedding anniversary and all through the house the husband was on his computer playing an online game with a mouse...the wife sat on the couch surfing the internet alone, trying to catch glimpses of the movie that was droning on in monotone...the little ones were all settled and all snug in their beds while the two teenagers played online games that involved using their heads...okay, it's lame...
Tomorrow is my tenth wedding anniversary and tonight we celebrated by going out to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse all by ourselves!!! It was really nice, affordable and all around great!!!

I'm slipping...
It's just been crazy and I have no excuse...
Had alot of crap going on here... decided to go back to school, but now I have to wait until Summer session or Fall to start because of financial aid not coming through fast enough and NOT being ready for the placement test.... Math absolutely terrifies me... Know any good suggestions for remembering basic stuff that you don't really use unless you're baking a cake from scratch or shopping the clearance rack??? So with that, I have to put off going back for a little while, but the good thing is I get more study time...
In other grim news... my father, who just turned 70 Saturday (and for those who really know me, know this is a feat all by itself) went to the doc about his pacemaker in his heart. A few weeks ago he was basically given 10 months to live because his battery in the device runs out and he's not a strong man (see New year's post) Well they told him his opptions for survival and they go like this:
Plan A:
Heart Transplant ~ Gee, sorry, you're not a candidate cause you're old, in bad health all the way around due to kidneys not functioning properly and stuff like that and oh, did I mention wouldn't survive the surgery???
Plan B:
Replacing the pacemaker with a new one.
Plan C:
Leave things the way they are and when the battery goes dead...guess what else goes dead???
So anyways, he's opted to do Plan B...well plan b scares the crapola out of me! If he's not going to survive plan a, what makes them think he'll survive plan b??? When the man had the initial pacemaker put in that was supposed to be same day surgery, he almost died! Was in the hospital for over a week and it's been a downhill slide since... when he had his triple by-pass his week stay was over a month with numerous complications and several oh God he's dead, no wait they revived him... I just don't understand how his doctor can put him through yet another operation... it's crazy... okay, I'm being selffish here...I know it's because he wants to live, but there is no guarentee that this new pacemaker will improve the quality of life, NONE! He may die on the table, he may have a massive stroke that will leave him God forbid a vegetable and in a nursing home! I am just beside myself with what if's and stress and I can't even imagine what my poor mother must be going through...she's been taking care of him for almost 19 years!!! God bless her... She's a saint as far as I'm concerned...
Work is a rat race and another long boring story...and to top it all off, I have stress here at home with a teenage eating machine that won't do anything but eat everything in sight, make messes for me to clean up and give me a hard time! I LOVE my son, but there are times I'd like to duct tape a dirty sock in his mouth! He's bull headed and lazy and a smartass, but I love him and try to be patient...lately the old patience is running thin...
I so need a vacation or a Goo Goo Dolls concert...

been a while
so I was thinking today that it's been a little while since my last entry...guess I better get down to business... family life has taken over everything that is my day to day...as it should be...Jake has been horribly sick with broncitious and is on the mend. He went back to school today... I am still contemplating my future as far as career goes...I dont want to be a lunch lady forever. I want my job to mean something, to be helpful to others...so I am debating...oh hell I AM GOING BACK TO SCHOOL IN THE FALL! There I said it and now there's no going back...I want to be an ex-ray tech and work in a medical setting.
Now while I contemplate some more, I'm off to watch CSI Miami with hubby.
Nite....peace out!

First Post of 2005
Life's been busy even though we've turnedanother page in the calendar...my New Year's Day was spent first entertaining company that are near and dear to me and then getting a phone call from my Mom informing me that my Dad had fallen in the bathtub landing on the base of his skull...first miracle of 2005 was that after a ride to the ER in an ambulance on a backboard complete with cervical collar, alot of oh my God looks because he couldn't feel the bottom of his right foot, my Dad did not fracture his skull or have to be admitted into the hospital...THANK YOU GOD!!!
And so after my quick trip to the ER (yes, I did say quick...3 hours tops...it pays to know people in the medical field), I hung out with my best friend, picked my son up from work and went home.
Sunday was spent watching Jake with a temp of 103...needless to say, we didn't go back to work/school today...we went to the doctor's and was diagnosed with broncitius...good news is we're going tomorrow, at least I am...
Peace out and goodnight *yawn*

1 more hour till 2005
New Year's Eve and I'm sitting in front of my computer...I have no life...oh well...I have my kids and my husband...my life still feels complete party or no party...I have my rum and coke in front of me and I guess Disney's Brother Bear is in my future beings my daughter is taking it out of its packaging as hubby is sitting on the couch playing Kid Cameleon...
This year's Christmas holiday was a success as far as I'm concerned...no really big fights (with the exception of hubby and my's little tift today in the yard) and the kids got just about everything they wanted...life is good...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Whew...glad that's over with...
Well today was the day to finally pull the head out of my ass and figure out what the hell happened... let me explain...Christmas Eve (you know the day from hell???) Well me and hubby were going out alone to finish Christmas shopping, kids were going to go to my Mom's and we were going to have a nice day....HA HA HA!!! I call the bank on a whim to find out if maybe they deposited my overpayment into my checking account...guess what??? Not only did they not deposit the money, the check for $20,000 dollars which was supposed to pay off my old home equity loan was lost and never posted to the account!!! Talk about your heart attack on a bun! I'm freaking, hubby's freaking, hell the dog was freaking cause I was freaking...and noone wanted to help me cause it's Christmas Eve and they were all partying...yes, my luck just keeps getting better...bring on 2005...I need a streak of good luck for a change...so anyways, guess who has no money to shop for hubby for a present??? You guessed it...me...we go anyway, we fight, he puts in half the money I need to buy what he wanted (17 inch flat screen) , rubs it in on how irresponsible I am, should have called the bank, I should pay better attention to things (ok, so he's right, but I really didn't need to have salt rubbed in the wound at that particular moment, ok?) I practically throw up from crying my eyes out cause I feel like a total f*ckup, we talk, we shop, we call and rant and rave over the mistake, but nothing gets done...I get charged for another mortgage payment last night at Midnight, overdraft fee's, the works...
So today, I wake up, call Fleet and get the most wonderful (no sarcasm here people) woman in the world on the phone (Bonnie if you're out there, I love ya) who helps me with everything that needed to be taken care of, walks me through the process, gets everything taken care of and guess what? I went to the bank, stopped the old check, was reissued a new one, took it to Fleet, paid off my old mortgage and actually walked out of there with my original overpayment...WWWHHHOOO freaking WWWHHHOOO!!! I put the money back that hubby chipped in for his present, have money for next week's groceries and had the biggest smile on my face...I don't even think John Rzeznik outside my front door would have made me happier...okay, so maybe I'm lying there, LOL!!!
Other than that, I watched Spiderman 2 tonight with my family and had a good time doing so...lookng forward to New Year's Eve...
I need sleep...I'm rambling now...CHEERS!

Feeling better...
Amazing what a dose of good old fashion antibiotics can do for someone! I broke down and called the MD yesterday...feeling like my lungs were coming ot of my throat was not a good feeling that I enjoyed experiencing...so made the call, popped some meds, took a tylenol PM, went to bed at 8:30 last night (yes I did say 8:30) and after a refreshing 11.5 hours of sleep I felt like a new person...guess I should go to bed now though...I'm killing my accomplishment by staying up this late...off to bed I go...

Taking a breather...
Popping in to say a few words before I have to go pick up Josh...hey guess what??? It's actually snowing here...I couldn't believe it!!!
Anyways...didn't make any more cookies today...just felt like crap and was cranky...helped hubby in the yard a little bit with clearing out some more tree branches that were dead and a danger...did manage to go and do my cleaning job...I received a wonderful surprise...the couple I clean for bought me a present which I did not expect...(aren't they the best kind?) They gave me a Gallelieo Thermometer...it's the kind that's handblown glass with a few of those weighted balls that tell the temperature of the room by the water or something cool like that...I always have wanted one cause I'm fasinated by stuff like that (yes, it doesn't take much to amuse me, LOL) and I was just really touched by their gift...kinda the silver lining in my day...
Mom came for a visit...we had tea and discussed cookies and such...was a nice little visit...she is even gonna make me some homemade...yes, I did say homemade...you know, not canned, boxed or frozen...anyways...homemade vegetable soup...i bought the stuff and she's gonna fix me up with a batch...maybe I'll actually get rid of this nasty cough before christmas...I am so tired of coughing...
All for now...goodnight... :o)

cell phones...shopping and the freaking holiday spirit....
God my blog has turned into the whining and crying space of the internet but damn I am so sick of always having a freaking hard time over everything...
I offer my cell to my son and get a cingular but now I don't know if I want this one...ok the phone is great...it has many features but after I get it I find these lovely little virgin mobile phones and I think I like these better and even better no contracts...the downfall you ask??? My husband makes me feel guilty for letting my 18 year old son take over my nextel phone plan instead of getting him a virgin mobile...if I knew about the freaking virgin mobiles I would have insisted he get that instead and now I don't know if it's too late to cancel my "upgraded nextel plan and phone" and take it back until my contract is up in August of 05' so he can have one of these virgin mobile phones...I swear the powers of the universe hurtle shit at me just to test my strength...I already have arms like Arnold...if I get anymore tests thrown at me I'm gonna be able to lift my house off the ground, LOL!!!
I still have to finish Christmas shopping and buy stocking stuffers, wrapping paper and all that jazz...I can't wait until December 26th...
If you haven't bought Goo Goo Dolls Live in Buffalo, July 4, 2004 run don't walk to your nearest store and buy it...you won't be disappointed...
Shutting up now...
